Picture frames and images as 3D product photos? Scanmotion.de took on the task for WhiteWall from Berlin.

WhiteWall from Berlin wanted to present their picture frames and images in a way that could be experienced from all sides. The good quality and workmanship of the frames should be viewable and tangible for customers in the online shop, just like in real life. For this purpose, Scanmotion Offenbach created high-quality 3D / 360-degree product photos of all wooden frames, which customers can intuitively touch with the mouse on the internet and independently view from all sides by rotating them. With the optional zoom feature, interested customers can then examine the high-quality details of the frames, such as the frame edges, very closely from their home PC or mobile device. For this, the wooden frames were elaborately photographed with 24 high-resolution images each in 360 degrees. Subsequently, 360-degree views were created from the images, which can be moved with the mouse and where a zoom can be activated if needed by the customer. This way, the customer can view the high-quality wooden frames from WhiteWall from the comfort of their living room at home. Using the same process, Scanmotion also captured images as examples of the various delivery methods and quality from WhiteWall. In this case, a second axis was additionally created to allow viewing the images from another perspective.

This new type of product view fascinates customers greatly, keeps them on the page longer, informs better, and shows details of the products that are otherwise not visible.

3D product photos are captured in HTML5 JavaScript and are visible on all mobile devices. On request, Scanmotion also creates compact Flash files using the 4-axis technique.
