Service Provider Scanmotion, Specialist for 360-Degree Product Images, Expands Its Capacities
Scanmotion expands its workspace by relocating from Offenbach to Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt. The move is intended to meet the steadily increasing demand in the field of 360-degree product images for online shops and other applications, and to create space for new innovations in this area.
In the new facility, there are now several hundred square meters of space available for various imaging systems for 360-degree product photography, as well as for special systems that can capture multiple axes in 360-degree product photography.
“Today, customers want to be able to view an item online as well as possible. For example, one would like to see an item such as a shoe from below to assess the sole for one’s own purposes. We accomplish such a capture in 2 axes, freely movable for the customer with the mouse on the PC or the finger on the mobile phone,” says Mr. Sewerin, Managing Director at Scanmotion.
“Recently, we simply ran out of space in our old premises, especially for customers with several thousand items,” Mr. Sewerin continues. In the new premises, several workstations for 3D scanning with laser scanners have also been created. These 3D systems are used to scan articles of all kinds, as well as clothing in 3D.
As has become standard in 360-degree product photography, the items are captured with either 24 or 36 high-resolution images. From these captures, the ready-to-embed images are then produced. At Scanmotion, a standard process after the capture involves optimization in the areas of color, contrast, and sharpness, followed by image extraction. The 360-degree images created in this way are then ready for direct integration into the shop system, according to customer requirements.
Scanmotion is a recognized specialist for 360-degree product photography and has been one of the pioneers in this innovative type of presentation for online shops, trade fairs, and POS for almost 10 years. The company creates movable 3D product images with products of all kinds, such as hardware and fashion. They produce high-quality product photos that can be viewed and controlled with an HTML5 player on all browsers on the internet and, of course, on mobile devices. The latest highlight is 3D capture with laser scanners. Customers include many medium-sized businesses as well as well-known industrial clients.
