Sandberg Collaborates with German Specialist for 3D Product Visualization

The German 3D specialist ScanMotion, www.scanmotion.de, is behind the new 3D presentations of Sandberg’s extensive range of exciting IT accessories, which you can now experience at www.sandberg.it. Sandberg expects sales increases from these new and highly realistic presentations.

The Hanover-based company ScanMotion specializes in creating 3D presentations for products of all sizes – from jewelry to vehicles. The underlying technology stands out due to its ease of use for customers. A professional team transforms physical products into online reproductions that can be rotated and pivoted in a virtual space.

The presentation options range from 360° photos that can be rotated on one or two axes to complete reproductions where users can freely rotate and turn the product with the mouse and view it from any angle.

Sandberg has chosen this best solution for presenting most of their products, providing a product experience as if the real products were on the website, where they can be freely moved with the mouse. This has been a really exciting project for us that has challenged our skills. After all, Sandberg’s products are not just rectangular boxes. Technically speaking, we have to create a 3D mesh for each product, over which photos of the product are laid. If you imagine a headset, for example, the 3D mesh is quite complex.
