MH-Online GmbH is a Germany-based company specializing in operating specialized internet shops for various product groups, where customers can receive intensive advice upon request, similar to specialized retail stores. For their specialized barbecue equipment shop (www.Grill-profi-shop.de), various images were taken of the latest barbecue devices.
360-Degree Product Images
Scanmotion.de from Hannover created the high-quality 360-degree images of the barbecue equipment.
Mrs. Reisslandt, Managing Director of MH-Online GmbH, explains: “Since customers in mail-order business cannot physically examine the products, MH-Online has decided to create 360-degree product animations to give their customers the best possible impression of the products. MH-Online started with their online shop www.Grill-profi-shop.de, where high-quality barbecue equipment from the Enders brand is sold. It was particularly important for MH-Online that their customers can zoom in on even the smallest details of the high-quality barbecue equipment as much as possible.
Since customer feedback on the 360-degree images has been consistently positive, MH-Online will enrich more of their online shops with such product animations from Scanmotion.”
Mr. Sewerin, Managing Director of Scanmotion.de, explains: “We can only confirm the positive feedback from end customers time and again. It makes a difference and is a clear advantage for users when they can view products as 360-degree images instead of static pictures. This way, customers decide for themselves what they want to look at and also have fun doing it.”
Scanmotion specializes in 360-degree product images. With the technology used by Scanmotion, it is possible to capture any product or object as a 3D or 360-degree product image. Usually, 28 to 36 shots of the products are taken and then processed into 360-degree product views in a more complex procedure. Despite the many high-resolution images, the file size is usually only about 600 kb, which poses no problem at all with today’s internet speeds. The views are mostly created as Flash, but HTML5 is also possible.
